Artexis Easyfairs acquires Evenementenhal in The Netherlands

Artexis-Easyfairs-Logo-new-resized-1Press Release: Artexis Easyfairs, the Brussels-based events organiser and venue manager, has significantly increased its portfolio of venues and events with the acquisition of Evenementenhal, which organises a total of 78 events and operates 3 venues in The Netherlands. Artexis Easyfairs now has a portfolio of 11 venues (206,173 sqm) and more than 200 events.

“Evenementenhal is a perfect fit with our existing business for two main reasons. Firstly, Evenementenhal is one of the leading Dutch event companies and Artexis Easyfairs already has a strong presence and excellent reputation in the Benelux. Secondly, Evenementenhal’s events are based on a highly successful all-in concept,” said Eric Everard, Founder and CEO of Artexis Easyfairs.

“The acquisition takes us to a new level, which will further increase our market visibility as one of the world’s leading companies in the exhibitions, meetings and events industry,” added Everard.

In 2015 Evenementenhal attracted 10,000 exhibitors and 600,000 visitors to events in Hardenberg (owned), Gorinchem (owned) and Venray (leasehold) in The Netherlands and Bad Salzuflen (leasehold) in Germany. It organises 78 events, which are mainly business-to-business trade fairs in market sectors such as agriculture & horticulture, transport & logistics, automotive, shipping and building & construction. Until its acquisition by Artexis Easyfairs, Evenementenhal was jointly owned by H2 Equity Partners Fund and ABN Amro Participaties and two minority shareholders.

“This is a great match and I am looking forward to working with Eric’s team to grow our events and exhibition halls business,” commented Angelique Klar, Managing Director of Evenementenhal.

Both Everard and Klar emphasised the commonality between the two organisations:

  • Integrated event organisers combining event organisation & venue operation
  • All-in model making participation easy and affordable for companies of all sizes on a regional and national level
  • A business model serving the professional sector communities, enabling them to connect and network
  • Complementarity in terms of the industries served

Through the acquisition of Evenementenhal, Artexis Easyfairs will now employ 700 team members to organise more than 200 events with 26,500 exhibitors annually, and will manage 11 venues with a net floor space of 206,173 square metres.
