Metro launches an evening tablet edition to compete with Evening Standard

metro_logo_300x95Metro’s publisher DMG Media is to compete with The London Evening Standard for homeward commuters by publishing a Metro evening tablet edition at 5pm every weekday from today.

The evening iPad and Android issue adds to Metro’s existing morning tablet edition, which launched in 2011 and is published at 5am on weekdays. The national evening publication will aim to take a lighter tone compared to the morning edition, focusing on entertainment as commuters “lean back” on their journeys home after work.
