Mission acquires significant stake in online video company Watchable

The Mission Marketing Group plc (‘the missiontm’, “the Company”, AIM: TMMG), the marketing communications and advertising Group, announces that it has purchased a significant stake in Watchable Ltd (“Watchable”) – an online video company founded earlier this year by Greg Delaney, Theo Delaney and Danny Fleet.

Watchable makes both short and long form video content for brands that are looking to complement or even replace their more traditional adverts to further engage their audiences.

The Watchable founders are all established advertising industry leaders – Greg Delaney has led and sold three ad agencies; Theo Delaney is an award winning Commercials and Content Director, and Danny Fleet is a hugely experienced Film Producer. Watchable has already won video business from the RFU, Nike, The Lawn Tennis Association, Penguin and Marathonbet.

David Morgan, Chairman of the missiontm commented: “Online video is forecast to account for around 70% of all internet traffic by 2017. With Clients shifting budgets into video and the rise of social video on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube, it’s a good time to be investing into a company like Watchable that was launched to capitalise on these trends.”

Watchable’s Greg Delaney said that they welcomed the mission’s involvement in the business: “This investment is an important step for us. We can provide the mission’s Agencies and Clients with video content and the missiontm can also help us to expand into the US and Asian markets where we see huge opportunities to develop the Watchable brand.”

Delaney added that the aim is to develop a Watchable Group, via acquisitions of likeminded, complementary companies: “the missiontm will undoubtedly help us to accelerate our expansion plans and that is very exciting.”
