Future’s digital edition giveaway: Clever synergy or digital climbdown?

This month, UK magazine publisher Future will be offering everyone who buys one of its print magazines the chance to download its digital counterpart for free. Future head of channel management Clair Porteous has described the promotion as a “first of its kind in the industry” aimed at “generating consumer excitement by a mass appeal promotion which is being pushed across all of our channels”.
