Bertelsmann is buying Relias from private equity owner Vista Equity Partners for a price it said was “in the mid-hundreds of millions” of dollars. Bertelsmann, the German media group, is bulking up its education business with the purchase of Relias Learning, a US provider of online healthcare education, in its biggest US acquisition since it bought publisher Random House in 1998.
