Rebekah Brooks is to take charge of her first digital acquisition after returning to News UK with the £58m acquisition of ad platform Unruly Media by parent company News Corp.
The company’s three founders will stay on at Unruly, which will operate as a separate business unit within News UK reporting to Brooks. The deal is worth an initial £58m in cash, with a further £56m payable if certain performance conditions are met.
Unruly specialises in distributing and tracking video ads across social media, has worked with brands including Dove, T-Mobile, Evian and Renault. It employs 200 people with regional hubs in London, New York and Singapore.
