WPP warns of ‘cocktail’ of pressures on clients

WPPThe world’s biggest advertising group has reported strong revenue growth in the first quarter as client spending in the US, UK and western Europe “perked up”. But warned that clients generally remained cautious amid a host of business pressures and geopolitical uncertainty.

WPP said this “cocktail of difficult trends” resulted in a short-term focus, reinforced by the needs of quarterly reporting as well as short-term, institutional investor measurement and incentives.
