Former EMAP and Informa CEO David Gilbertson has joined TheMediaBiefing’s parent company, Briefing Media, as non executive chairman.
While in charge of Emap (since renamed Top Right Group), Gilbertson was responsible for introducing paywalls across Emap’s websites. He wrote about the move in one of the first articles to appear on TheMediaBriefing.
He was one of the founders of Informa, which through organic growth and acqusitions grew into one of the largest business media groups in the world.
He has also served as CEO of LLP, the publishers of Lloyd’s List. He began his career as a journalist with Metal Bulletin and also had a short spell as MD of The Lancet.
