Omnicom Health Group has agreed to acquire BioPharm Communications, a specialist in multichannel marketing programs to physicians and healthcare practitioners for pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. The acquisition is designed to bolster Omnicom’s data-driven marketing capabilities in the healthcare sector.
The move is the latest in a series of recent steps the company has taken to expand its healthcare operation, which was reorganized in February when Ed Wise was named CEO, Omnicom Health Group. In April, the holding company said it was extending its TBWA\WorldHealth, brand which is absorbing two established Omnicom healthcare agencies—LLNS and Corbett. Also last month, it reorganized its CDM healthcare agency brand, consolidating its eight offices around the world under the leadership of newly named CEO Kyle Barich.
